Quietly tucked into an established neighborhood in Midtown Tulsa, this 1960 California Ranch was given new life. The original home was designed by a local architect who spent several years practicing in California after his education. Drawing inspiration from the interaction of the natural and built environment, the architect implemented his observations while respecting the aesthetic preferences of the client. Yet, several generations of remodels and additions left only glances of the original design.
For our client, the goal of the remodel was simple: Create an intentional, relevant and relaxed environment that honors the original intent of the home.
This was an opportunity to peel back the layers of quick-fixes and reveal the opportunities within. Natural light, a simplified material palette, calculated floor plan decisions and dedicated clients led us to a space that was true to the original intent of the home.
